Cerezo Osaka midfielder Bruno Meneghel has joined Chinese first division club Changchun Yatai, the club announced yesterday.
The Brazilian joined the club this year after spending 4 years in China and playing for Qingdao Jonoon and Dalian Aerbin. He often talks to Brazilian media but has not shown any dissatisfaction with the club. The reason why he decided to leave is the simplest and quite understandable: The Chinese side offered him higher wage than he earned at Cerezo.
Although that the team’s most goal scorer leaves the club would give some blow, this is also seen to be a good deal for Cerezo Osaka which recently splashed out money to bring back Hotaru Yamaguchi. The transfer fee is undisclosed at the moment, but financially Cerezo must have got huge profit because they signed him on a free transfer in January.
Bruno Meneghel sent us very nice message on his Instagram account. His account is private, but it is reposted by his agency Pecbol Sports.
It was just 6 months, but thank you very much for your contribution to the team, Bruno. I wish all the best for your future. Boa sorte!
