2 academy players registered for the top team

J.League announced yesterday that Cerezo Osaka completed registration of academy boys Toichi Suzuki and Shunsuke Tanimoto as class-2 players. They are expected to play for the U-23 team.

Toichi Suzuki was born in Osaka on May 30, 2000. He plays as a midfielder and has been selected in Japan’s U-15, U-16, and U-17 national team. He won the 21st International Youth Football Championship as a member of Japan U-17 national team this month.

Shunsuke Tanimoto was born in Osaka on March 7, 2001. He plays as a midfielder and has been selected in the U-16 national team. He started in all games and scored a goal in the U-16 International Dream Cup held last month.

Both players were part of Cerezo Osaka U-15 that beat Gamba Osaka Junior Youth and won the Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Football Championship in 2015, as well as part of Japan’s U-16 national team that secured top 4 place in the AFC U-16 Championship last year.
