Pierce Waring made his J.League debut

Posted at — Aug 27, 2018

Pierce Waring made his J.League debut yesterday when he came onto the pitch replacing Masaki Okino in the match against Kagoshima United FC.

Waring is the only new signing of this summer for Cerezo Osaka. Some time passed since he joined the club but yesterday’s game was the first to be held after the J3 League, the nation’s third division where he is expected to mainly play in, took a four-week break.

Waring didn’t stand out yesterday. He didn’t look quite fit and there seemed to be much room for improvement including combination with other players. Of course, it is too early to make some conclusion. He himself didn’t satisfy with his performance yesterday as he said he needs to “train harder to score a lot of goals from now on” in the post-match interview.
