Fukumitsu and Akiyama leave the club on loan

Cerezo Osaka announced yesterday that Takaki Fukumitsu joins Mito Hollyhock and Daichi Akiyama joins Montedio Yamagata, both on loan until the end of the season.

Takaki Fukumitsu joined Cerezo Osaka from Renofa Yamaguchi in 2017. While he is a good player with above average quality including dribbling and passing and made a huge contribution to the team in winning the cup double in that year, he faced a tough competition and couldn’t get much playing time, especially since Miguel Angel Lotina was appointed as manager this year.

Daichi Akiyama was promoted from Cerezo Osaka U-18 in 2013 alongside Takumi Minamino who is currently playing for Red Bull Salzburg. Although he gathered expectations as something like “next Hotaru Yamaguchi,” he played only 18 matches in the J1 League in his and more than 5 seasons with Cerezo Osaka and this year he mainly played in the J3 League as the team signed three experienced midfielders who play in the same position. This time he joins current J2 leaders Montedio Yamagata whose manager Takashi Kiyama knows him well after he signed him on loan when he was taking charge of Ehime FC in 2015.
